Happy New Year!

So its 2010!  A whole new decade, crazy right? 

I have been reading some articles about what will happen in the next 10 years to come and some are pretty funny and some are like real predictions and kind of scary – and they really make you think about what’s going to happen in life… but just a quick reminder: a big part of how this decade, this year –  heck,  how this day will turn out, depends on YOU! Your choices.

I looked up some fun stuff too about 2010, like the words that have been added to this year’s dictionary like ‘Bouncebackability’ or the amazing and astounding 2009 word of the year:  ‘unfriend’.  And I even found ones that have been over-used and now officially banned by Time magazine, like ‘tweet’ and ‘bromance’, haha.   But in looking up the actual number 10 and its meaning, it has tons of significance.  It has to do with completion or perfection.  And this idea of wholeness also leads us to another meaning of the  # 10: new beginnings.  Its used symbolically all over our Bible and our culture – so lets embrace it.

God has a ton in store for us here @ the Loft and He wants NEW and exciting things for you too.  Because His goal in us is wholeness, to make your joy COMPLETE . . . but don’t forget we have to do our part.  So let’s step up to the plate, step outside the box, step anywhere you want – as long as its following after God.

Think how old you will be when this decade is over!  Yet it happens one year, one day at a time.  Your choices mean everything, and with Him, we own this decade!

1 Corinthians 5: ¹⁷Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come! ¹⁸All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation: ¹⁹that God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting men’s sins against them.

Things are moving fast!

I don’t know about you but November and December seem to FLY by for me.  So many things happen one after another and the next thing you know it will be 2010!

So – don’t get caught up  in the busyness!

Its been more than 2 WEEKS since Youth Convention – how have you been doing since?  Have you faded?  Are you doing what God spoke to you there??  Keep going strong!!

Also – Thanksgiving is here!  Make sure you take time to really spend with God and think about how much He has blessed you life – it is SURE to challenge you to thank him and maybe even refocus a little.

AND – Christmas is soon and coming!  Let’s remember how awesome it is that God himself came to Earth and that now WE GET to have  relationship with Him!  Maybe we will even get a chance to tell some one else about it, or at least show them the love of Jesus this season!

 

SO – keep pressing on and DON’T get sick!

Awesome worship, really great speaker: Scotty Gibbons, sweet tailgate party, tons of FREE food!, randomness in 5 Below,  late night chill and games, AAAND some of us dressed up like cows – SO MUCH FUN!

In the past week we have had See You at the Pole AND our Speed the Light Walk-a-thon!!

We represented at 4 area schools on 9/23 for the annual SYATP and prayed for God to move in the lives of YOUR peers! Be sure to see if your school has a christian club, and if not, ask Pastor Dan and maybe YOU can be the one to start it!

For STL, 13 different participants gave up part of their Saturday on 9/26 and walked a total of 90 MILES!!  When its all in, we are looking to have raised over $700 for missionaries around the world!!

We’re all gearing back up for the the new school year,  and as much as that stings to hear, there is still fun to be had.

Just so YOU are aware – there are NO activities at The Loft Friday July 3rd.

BUT – Wednesdays nights are STILL on all summer long, 6:30 to 7:30. We are still meeting and having discussion and i love these opportunities to hear what you think about stuff.
